Can you close the tray when the ladder is in use?

No, the tray CANNOT be closed. Even though the manufacturer says it can, they don't know their own product. I just bought one of these and it is fixed so that it opens and closes with the ladder. There is NO way to close it unless you modify the ladder first. Lowes, if you are reading these, PLEASE remove the comment from the manufacture that is incorrect or have them correct their response.

Was this Answer Helpful ?No, you can not close the tray. It is hinged into the ladder and actually helps stabilize the ladder when in use. Having used both types, I like this one much better. You will feel a lot more stable on this one.
