i have short 4x4 post do they have to go all the way through the sleeve for support a railing


Hello, and thank you for reaching out to Trex. Our railings come in two different heights which are either 36 or 42. You will want to make sure that while attaching the brackets the wood screws bite into the 4x4 pressure treated post to make sure the railing is properly secured. Kindly, -Trex Customer Care Team
