What size pilot hole should be drilled to anchor 1/4" x 3 3/4 " Tapcon Concrete Screws into a cement block wall?


3/16 according to tapcon. Do not drill 1/4 for a 1/4 concrete anchor; it will not have a bite into the concrete/masonry.

Well Tapcon screws are self anchoring and the 1/4" is the diameter of the screw shaft ( not counting the threads) so you will use a 1/4" bit to drill the pilot.
