Remember chimney pipe & parts are "sized" by their inside diameter. Even if a part is to attach to the outside it uses the ID size in the part number.

The Cap listed with Model # 208800 is designed & built for an 8" Inside Diameter chimney. An 8" ID Chimney will have an OD of 10". Since this cap attached to the outside of the chimney, the 3 legs are sized to fit 10". If you are looking for a cap that will fit a pipe that has an outside diameter of 8", then you'd want the 206800. The Model 206800 is designed & built to fit a 6" ID chimney which has an 8" outside diameter.
