How do I remove the faceplate from the lockset?


To remove the faceplate from the latch, you would take a flat head screwdriver and insert it into each tab behind the faceplate. Turn the screwdriver to pop the face plate off the back plate. Make sure to attach the drive in collar to hold the latch in place.

The door should accomodate the face plate that is a part of the latch hardware. If it will not clear the door frame/strike plate when installed and the door is then closed, the door will need to be adapted to recieve the faceplate in it's intended "recessed" mounting.
