Does the knob stay unlocked from the inside?


Yes. You have to lock it by turning the snib or inserting a key into the doorknob if outside. The upper lock bolt has an interior snib. It’s not a deadbolt (double sided).

The door handle has a snib on the interior side you can lock/unlock. The bolt has a snib as well. It is not a deadlock.
