No, you have to unlock the door before it can be opened from the inside.

If this is a Gate House, you will get locked out if you do not unlock the knob before going out.

No it does not. This is a standard grade 3 lock that requires someone to turn the thumb turn piece to unlock the door. There are locks that are approved by the ADA that have push button locks that can be unlocked by turning the knob/lever to unlock and open.
