how do you get the water connection from the existing valve to this unit?

The Kauai Shower System is a retro fit unit that replaces your shower head and shower arm only. It is designed to work with your pre-existing mixing valve and is compatible with any standard mixing valve for a new construction. We recommend the Pulse Tru-Temp Mixing Valve (3001-RIV-PB-BN) to match the finish of the shower system.
