Does the shower head pivot? Also, can you use the shower head and the handheld at the same time?

Yes, the showerhead is connected on a swivel joint. The showerhead and hand shower are designed to be used independently, however based on your homes water pressure you can toggle the diverter between the two functions to utilize them both at the same time.
