This is a basic underlayment that floats on top of a concrete or wood subfloor. You fold over the built in lip and tape to seal the "long ends" ensuring moisture protection and use a underlayment tape like Floor Comfort Underlayment Tape (sold at Lowes) for the "short or butt ends" - again to ensure moisture protection. One the underlayment is laid out, taped and smooth you install a click lock floating laminate or engineered hardwood oven it. You must always follow flooring manufacturers instructions regarding any additional steps they require or the use of any additional moisture barriers such as a 6 mil film.
