if the light is on 24/7 does it burn out quickly?


Quickly? What is quickly, is it 3 months, 6 months, a year? If the light is on continually I wouldn't expect the lamp to last as many months as if the light were only switched on occasionally. If the light is to be turned on 24/7 I'd use an equivalent to the required medium base A-15 lamp possibly in a self ballasted CFL or an LED lamp.
