Why am I seeing an orange stain under the escutcheons? Looks like rust.

In order to ensure that the GRAB BAR and the mounting plate are unified, a laser welding process is used to chemically react with the oxygen in the air on the surface of the stainless steel to form a dense oxide layer, thus forming a "colored" phenomenon.
