I want to use this product in a renovation of my RV


yes, I feel it will compact as long as the width of the insulation is the same width as the space between the framing studs. I could compact it to about 1-1/4" . I'm not qualified to answer the R factor question.

Installing an R-13 (3 1/2" thick) into a 1 1/2" cavity, would essentially reduce the R-value to approximately an R-6.6. Unfortunately I do not have any recommendations in regards with using a Kraft Faced insulation for your application. Typically the Kraft Faced insulation must be covered by a 15 minute thermal barrier such as drywall or gypsum board due to it being considered combustible. I would recommend contacting a manufacturer that produces insulation for RV's for their recommendations.
