Would this work well on a 16' x 16' patio with a 10' x 10' canopy?

Pearlimae, yes it would work, but it wouldn't be the most efficient way to do it. Installing two mist systems, such as a low pressure residential misting system (Orbit #20000), around the perimeter of the canvas would be more effective in cooling the entire patio area. If you are trying to cool an area where you don't have a structure to attach the mist system to, though, that's where this mist tower would come in handy.
