Does this unit have a heat sensor. Does it cut off when it reaches the set temperature?


This unit uses an electric heater, not a heat pump so the compressor function is not used for heat. By default, the fan will run NOT run continuously after the heat turns off. (Opposite for cooling.) You can change the fan setting with dip switches behind the cover. See User Manual.
