can this work with the HTA2020 and PAS 1020, basically the carbon fiber versions of the hedge and pole saw attachments, or is there a carbon fiber extension that works with these

The metal extension works with the pole saw and hedge trimmer. This carbon fiber extension only works with the pole saw. They should be the same, so don't know why there is a restriction on the carbon fiber extension.
