Can this safely be used on a drinking water hose attached to a RV?


Yes, you can (I have for the past 4 years) but you will have to replace your hose after the cold season. I have found out that most of these RV hoses will fail after more than one year of use when you have used heat tape during the winter; the hose will lose its strength/integrity and start to swell if you try to reuse again the next winter, eventually bursting. Just be sure to run the heat tape in a straight line down the hose (do NOT curl it around the hose) and put some foam pipe insulation around the heat-taped hose.
