You may still have the adaptor on. You just need to remove the adaptors from the bottom of the post cap, and it should fit.
Was this Answer Helpful ?Out of the box, the light wont fit a 4x4 post (3.5" post). You have to remove the inner square adapter collar (it just slides out).
