Is this relatively easy to do? How do I fix a rather large hole?

DAP® Wall Repair Patch Kit is a very straightforward complete patching solution, however, kit is limited to repairs of 3 inches or less in diameter. The most challenging step in the application process, is the final sanding to "feather" or blend the repair to the existing surface. For novices, it is best to use a fine/very fine grit of sandpaper such as 150 to start and 220 for the final sanding. This helps to ensure that the sanding step is gradual and does not remove more dry spackling compound than is necessary for a professional looking end result. If you do happen to "over sand" (remove too much dry spackling compound), you can always clean the surface of the sanding dust with a damp rag and reapply a thin amount of additional spackling compound to make a second attempt.
Depending on your patience, as much as skill level, this is relatively easy to do. Fixing a "large" hole, depending on the size, might actually require some drywall to be used along with this product. I won't say it cannot be fixed with this product, but the results may not meet your expectations....depending on the scope of work (size of the hole, what you use for backing, durability of finished product and look). I typically use this for smaller (more minor) repairs in my homes.
