With 3/4 thick, 2 1/4 in wide boards, what gauge and length nails/cleats should be used?


Good morning. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. For installing a 3/4" solid hardwood we recommend using 1 1/2" - 2" staples or cleats. Staples should be 15.5 gauge, cleats 16 gauge. Fasteners should be set 1" - 3" from the end on the plank and then every 8" - 10". I hope this information is helpful. Have a great day.
