It seems like the gazebo comes pre-stained. However, do you recommend that I apply a second coat of stain before assembly or is that not necessary?

Hello! Yes, it will come with a water based stain applied for color purposes only. It is highly recommended to apply a clear/transparent waterproofing sealant to all the wood as soon as possible before or after assembly and about once a year after that.
