Is it necessary for the bracket to screw into a stud? I've only got 1 stud between a window and a corner, so the 2nd bracket would just be in drywall


Thank you for your inquiry. This bracket is designed to be screwed into solid wood for maximum weight load capacity. However, with the proper anchors for drywall you can install the second bracket.
