Do you depress igniter to start after getting pilot light lit?

Do you have to buy a kit to make it propane

Thank you for your inquiry. Once the pilot light is lit, you can release the ignitor but should continue to hold down the control knob for approximately 30 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat up. After this time, you may slowly release the control knob. The pilot light should remain lit. If it does not, please wait a few minutes and repeat the lighting steps. For detailed lighting instructions or further product support, please feel free to contact us at 877-447-4768 or email customerservice@ghpgroupinc.com. We’re here to help. – GHP Group

NO. Once the pilot light is it stays lit. You just adjust the thermostat. On previous gas fireplace logs we have lite the pilot only once a year
