We want to seal the wood dye in some rainbow blocks. The blocks have a slight texture now. Will shellac take away that texture? Is this non toxic?

Great question, thank you for reaching out! If the wood surface has a rough texture, the best way to smooth the surface is sanding with a fine grit sandpaper. If this is not possible, it may take a few coats of our Zinsser Bulls-Eye Shellac Spray to build up on the surface and create a smooth finish.
