wILL THE FILTER HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE ICE PRODUCTION?

In my case, it has a huge effect on ice production. My filter is the original one installed on the water line when the fridge was installed maybe 20 yrs ago. It became totally clogged and after hollow ice (incomplete filling) for over a month, the water stopped flowing completely. Turned off water at the main, not risking the very old copper valve inline, I replaced the filter with this one. Fixed the water flow and allowed ice to be made again.

Was this Answer Helpful ?Doesn't effect water flow on mine. If it does on yours, there is an adjustable screw on your ice maker that will increase fill time to let more water in. Google your specific brand and model for instructions on how to do it.
