How long do the filters last in a 2 person household?

Following is the information contained in the manual. I'll elaborate with my own personal usage afterward: "It is recommended to replace the battery and filter cartridges every six months of use. There are several variables that determine how long a cartridge will last. These include: 1. How much water you use, and 2. How much sediment, taste and /or odor, or other unwanted substance, is in the water. Use the following information as a guide. However, no matter which type of cartridge you are using, you will know it is time to replace it when you first notice the return of unwanted substance in your water." Also the next paragraph says: "The rated capacity for this system is 280 gallons." I am a one person household and as such I consume very little water. I use an average of 3.5 gallons from this system a week, and I calculated that over the past 28 weeks at the time of this writing that I have only used 98 gallons. If you add 2/3 more to that for a two person household it would be 163 gallons. Double that would be 196 gallons over a 28 week period (about 6 months). I hope these figures help those with a decision to make about your cartridge life.

The WHED20 filters should be replaced every 6 months. The faucet has a timer with a reminder light that comes on when it is time to change the filters. This system is convenient because you are able to dispense good quality water at your kitchen sink without the hassle of bulky pitchers and faucet filters. Thank you!
