Had system for 3 months and am getting lite orange water coming out how do I fix that and how do you know the life of softer?

You may have some clear water iron in your water. The w/s has a large iron removal capacity so if your getting iron bleed thru you may be exceeding that capacity. You can change some settings on the unit to increase backwash times that may help. Also, buy an iron removal compound that you pour into the brinewell and regenerate the unit. That will help clean the resin bed. Or, use salt with an iron removal chemical in it. Usually the mechanical/electrical components break long before the resin bed plugs up. Normal maintenance will keep the unit going for 20+ years.

Colored water should not be coming from the softener. Put the softener in manual bypass, run plenty of water, and see if the water color goes away. If it does, contact the seller of manufacturer for warranty help.
