AC78 Aluminum Stabilizer For Extension ladders

Werner AC78 Aluminum Stabilizer For Extension ladders

Does it make the ladder stable, by resting on the roof?

This is not designed to rest on the roof, only on the wall. Depending on your level of expertise you could go to a big box store and buy a chain link post that will fit over the extension posts. Cut it to the length you need for each post and then slip them over the stabilizer posts. Pad the end where it contacts your wall with some foam taped on and you are set. This is only good if you are VERY handy and do it right. If your home is single story go buy a good step ladder - much safer. If you are working by yourself hire a pro. Lots of handymen will do roof work.

Yes. I have aluminum gutters and cannot lean a ladder against them. Same problem with drip edge. The ladder clears both depending upon the pitch of the roof. I used it on a very low pitch roof and it worked just fine.

If it makes good contact, I don't see why not.

The AC78 stabilizer is not designed to be used on an angled roof. The stabilizer is in a fixed position to help maintain the correct angle for the extension ladder.

See my review. I can only see this working while resting on the roof if you have a steep slope.
