You have to turn the battery chamber 1/4 turn, and then wiggle and pull it to get it out. It is very tight (to make it waterproof). Lightly applying pliers to the twist handle could make it easier.

You can replace the batteries by removing the light pod by the screw. Then push the tab, pull it apart and twist off the battery cover.

Thank you for your question. To replace the batteries, remove the light pod by removing screw. Push tab (b) and pull apart. There is a battery cover that will twist off.
