Do I have to thin the paint before putting into strayer?

I painted my entire garage with paint from a five gallons bucket. I dialed in the thickness with the depth guage using my thumb. No strainer use just a fresh batch of paint from lowes.

I poured the paint directly from the paint can to the sprayed and started painting!

You do not need to thin paint, same with most stains. Check the instructions/information in the stain container.

No need to thin the paint. I used a masonry sealant in it (a bit thicker than paint) and it worked great.

I just went ahead and added Floetrol additive. It recommended 32oz per gallon of latex paint, but I used 16oz per gallon and it worked like a charm. It is only 5 bucks so just buy it. I would not chance clogging the sprayer over a 5 dollar purchase.

We did not thin the paint but we attached a stirrer to a drill to get it mixed up really good and we strained the paint as we put it into the container. I noticed a little blobs while it was being strained so I definately think that is key to having success with the sprayer.

The PaintReady will spray unthinned latex paint, the complete cleaning directions can be found in the manual.

The PaintREADY Sprayer will spray unthinned latex paint. No special handling of the paint should be required. Cleaning is pretty simple with this unit as the paint will touch very little of the unit beyond the container you put paint into, and the nozzle the paint sprays through. Complete cleaning directions can be found in the manual.
