What is the difference between the tempered, impact and other glass types

VELUX offers a variety of glass types to meet different local building code requirements! All of our glass will be dual glazed, argon filled with three coatings of LowE for optimal energy efficiency. Tempered glass is generally used for in-reach applications, while Laminated glass can be used for both in & out-of-reach applications. Impact glass is a stronger version of Laminated glass used for high wind or hurricane prone areas where it is required for building codes. Not sure of the glass type needed?
