Why do you have to remove screen to adjust shade?

Hello and thank you for your question. The only type of shade that requires removal of the insect screen to adjust the shade is our manual Venetian blinds in manual venting skylights. This is because our blinds install up against the glass in the sash, which is behind the insect screen that sits in the skylight frame. If you install a solar powered blind (which is eligible for up to a 30% federal tax credit on both product and installation costs, making it very affordable) then there is no need to remove the insect screen because the blind is controlled by a remote that is included with the blind. I would highly recommend purchasing a solar powered blind because they are so versatile and available in different colors, plus you can purchase either a light filtering or room darkening version which are ideal for different types of rooms in your home.
