Is it UNIVERSAL? I need the type that you open up and move jumpers around to the proper frequency.

This push button doesn't have any jumpers in it. It has just 2 switches labeled 1 and 2, and they are on/off toggles that you set for one ding, two dings, or Westminster chime. If the door chime unit itself has a bank of jumpers, the instructions for this button say to remove all jumpers from the chime unit and ONLY replace the jumpers on 1 and 2 of that bank. If the chime unit has a bank of 8 toggle switches, you are to set 1, 2, and 8 ON and 3-7 OFF. Then you might have to sync up the button with the chime after that. I'm not sure. I haven't gotten old and new buttons to work together, yet. It might be that if you replace one old button, you have to replace all of your door buttons.
