Read All Questions & AnswersIs the battery in the unit changable? I bought one a bunch of years ago and found there was no easy way to change the battery.

It takes a special size battery but it can be replaced. I did not find any locally, only online.
Was this Answer Helpful ?Yes, battery in remote is changeable, it uses an obscure 12V, V23GA (MS21/MN21) style battery, not readily available locally, but can certainly be ordered online

Was this Answer Helpful ?It's a 12v battery about half the length of an AA cell. Radio Shack replacement numbers are 23, 23M, VR22, and EL22. Any of them will work. It's easy to change.
Was this Answer Helpful ?There is no battery inside the Plug-in end or the sensor end. It gets it's power from the outlet it is plugged into.
