What size is the socket that fits the heating element


The socket size is 1-1/2 inch.

A 1.5 inch, deep well socket can be used for replacing the heating element. Before removing the covers, ensure the power is off to the water heater. After replacing an element, ensure the tank is completely full of water, and all covers are in place prior to turning power on to the water heater. Turning power on to the water heater before it is full will permanently damage the heating elements. Thanks - Brian
