Are the compression fittings in this kit designed to attach directly to 3/4" unthreaded copper pipe?


Yes. The compression fittings fit over the end of unthreaded 3/4in copper pipe. Use two wrenches to tighten the fitting.

Yes, just tighten the fitting it will swell the copper causing it to seal to mating surface in fitting. No need to solder. Even simpler buy a sharkbite fitting they just slip onto copper

While that is what they are designed for, I say from experience, that it is much better to solder all non threaded fittings. When I did work in the field, i came across a lot of compression fittings that were leaking. Some showed signs that they had been dripping for years unnoticed.

Yes, the brass fittings are threaded on both the male and female ends so you shouldn't need to solder.

These go on with two wrenches, no solder, just shine the pipe with some emery cloth slide it on and tighten it up!
