my shop is 30x30 with 12-14ft ceilings how many fixtures would be needed for the best light.

If you use led lighting, six of the Utilitech Pro shop lights should be sufficient. It all depends on how bright you want the shop.

I would think you would want about six of these.

I can't say exactly, but as I just posted in a review they put out 25% less light than a regular T8 fixture. Given your area and ceiling height the difference would be significant. You're probably better off getting a regular fluorescent fixture.

I have 4 of these in my 20' x 20' garage which lights it up beautifully. I would say for a 30' x 30' area 6 of these LED fixtures should do the trick.

If you want to light the entire area, I would recommend 9 (3 rows of 3 lights each) to 12 (4 rows of 3 lights ea). You could start with 9 and see if that's enough and add more if needed.

I'd say at least two fixtures for general lighting. It depends on your layout, however. You might make due with one fixture for general lighting and then another fixture directly over your work bench, if applicable.

I would suggest 12 to 16 lights evenly spaced throughout your space, and if you have a work station/area I would place one or two directly over the work station/area. The evenly spacing allows for good coverage and brightness in the space.
