What is a t-blade connector?

Standard outlets with the two parallel prongs (plus ground) are 120 volt outlets rated for 15 amps (i.e. your circuit breaker or fuse will trip/blow if power draw exceeds 15 amps of current). This is known as a 5-15 outlet and plug. Some outlets, however, can supply 20 amps of current. These outlets, known as 5-20 outlets, have a T-shaped neutral slot (i.e. the slot on the left, assuming that the outlet is oriented with the ground hole pointing down). This is designed to accept not only standard 15-amp plugs, but also 20-amp 5-20 plugs. These have their neutral prong turned sideways to prevent them from being inserted into a 15-amp outlet and their load drawing too much power. This extension cord is rated for 20 amps, so it features a 20-amp plug with a sideways neutral prong that can only plug into 20-amp outlets, and a 20-amp outlet with a T-shaped neutral slot that can accept either a 15- or 20-amp plug. (It also seems to come with a handy little adapter cord to plug this into a 15-amp plug if necessary.)
