It's not recommended to use this fixture with a dimmer.

My answer would be ,.. there is a circuit involved that controls both lights, when flipping the switch (common 15amp switch) there is a slight delay, before illumination. What all the circuit does & what type of dimmer is suited &/ or not suited for this application is best answered by the manufacturer. That being said, it is led not fluorescent, the instructions do not advise for, but generally if a dimmer had adverse effects they would state a warning not to use, which they have not .
