Is this light brighter than the 500w Halogen work light sold by Lowes?


The 40-Watt LED is equal to a 200-Watt Incandescent light. So a 500-Watt Halogen will be 2.5 times brighter.

IN MY OPION, YES, BUT ITS LIKE COMPARING APPLES TO ORANGES. THE LED IS A MUCH WHITER LIGHT, AND MUCH COOLER, HALOGENS GETVHOT ENOUGH TO BURN YOU.

The light output is equivalent to a 150w Halogen light, However, the 150w equivalency is very bright and will evenly illuminate a ceiling without shadow.

It is probably on par with a single 500W bulb, but not two 500 W bulbs. The great thing is that when you are working on a project in a confined space it only uses 40W instead of 1000W so it won't chase you out on a hot day...
