When I turn the dial to 2hours after its completely dark outside, the timer automatically turns on everything. Why is that?


Hello Casey0012 and Thank you for your question. This is a Photo Cell Switch which means that when it's just DARK enough the switch will turn anything on that's plugged into it's outlets. Hope this answers your question for you and Thank you for contacting Lowe's.

It will turn on everything that is plugged into it for a period of two hours then shut off.
