Any reason I cant use this for a ceiling fan?

Yes it will work with your fan application.
Was this Answer Helpful ?If you have a wall switch you are using for the fan you can replace it with this one. For fans with pull cords: If you want it to work with the fan only, make sure the fan switch is on. If you want to have it work with the light only, make sure that cord is pulled on. I'm not sure about if both things are on separate switches. Call customer service at 1-866-994-4148 to find out.

Most ceiling fans are 1/3 h.p. or less, so you should be fine. From the product literature: SAFETY INFORMATION & SPECIFICATIONS THIS TIMER IS FOR USE WITH A 120 V AC POWER SOURCE. 120 V AC / 60 Hz DO NOT ATTACH A DEVICE THAT EXCEEDS THE UNIT RATINGS: 15 A / 1,800 W Resistive (General Purpose) 10 A / 1,200 W Tungsten (Incandescent) 10 A / 1,200 W Ballast (Fluorescent) 1/2 HP (Horsepower Motor) <<<<<<<<<<<< SEE HERE
Was this Answer Helpful ?This should work just fine with a fan.
Was this Answer Helpful ?This could most likely work. I had not thought of it but you have a good idea.
Was this Answer Helpful ?None, but... Be sure you have at least 3 wires in your existing switch box to attach the wires from the timer 1 from the circuit breaker 1 to the fan 1 to the neutral wires The timer has a 4th wire to be connected to ground
