Does this switch require a ground or will it work in older 2-wire home?

Daddyx2, a ground us NOT a redundant feature added. It is completely different than a neutral. Stay away from wiring and fire sure dont try to help others.
Was this Answer Helpful ?yes, it should work. The white wire, prior to a bare ground in a residential electrical circuit, was the ground bearing line. It would allow a short in the circuit to find ground by returning to the breaker panel box and then going to ground via a line connected to a ground rod. The bare ground was eventually added to the electrical circuit as a redundant safety feature to ensure that a wiring circuit is as safe as it can be in the home. If at all possible, it's my recommendation to try and install a ground wire that is grounded to the panel, or a wire that leads to a bare ground. The safer you can make this device, the more peace of mind you'll have once you've installed the device.

Was this Answer Helpful ?I returned it because it requires a neutral wire, a three wire setup, in addition to the ground.
