Is there a problem changing a 3 prong outlet to a 4 prong outlet ? My new dryer has a 4 prong plug .


You shouldn't have a problem IF you have a 4-wire circuit; 2 hots, 1 neutral and 1 ground. If you have a 3-wire circuit (pre 1996) you'll have to change the cord to a 3-wire cord. New dryers don't come with a cord, you must purchase the appropriate cord seperately.
