have a 3plug electric stove.Can this be used for me to use my stove.There is 3wires in wall.the person used wire2wire b4 me.I want to install this.


If there is an existing 3-wire cable present you can install a 3-wire/prong dryer receptacle as long as the cable does not need to be extended in any manner. The NEC prohibits extending any ungrounded circuit. If the existing 3-wire cable also has an unused 4th ground wire I would urge you to install a 4-wire/prong receptacle and change the dryer cord to a 4-wire cord/plug for safety.
