I need to install it in shallow wall with a shallow electrical box will it fit?

Thanks, I got that same answer without dimensions when the store guy showed me it wouldn't fit. I'll end up doing the same you suggested.

A shallow box would be a 1 1/2" deep 1900 box, this receptacle will not fit. This receptacle needs to be installed in a 2 1/8" deep 1900 box. In your situation with a shallow wall, a surface receptacle may be the best thing to install. Lowes stocks many of them in all stores.
