Will this work for a hot.tub?

You haven't provided enough information for an accurate answer. Does the hottub need 120 volts? ....240 volts? ....120/240 volts? Many hottubs require 120/240 volts at either 50 or 60 amps and this receptacle is only rated at 30 amps and doesn't have the required ground. A 120/240 volt hottub must be wired with 2 hots, 1 neutral and 1 insulated ground conductor. Typically the best way to wire a hottub is to install a 50 or 60 amp spa disconnect with GFCI circuit breaker outside the house and then run a conduit with appropriate wiring to the tub control panel.
