how can i tell if my old tank is water logged or the bladder is busted

If you check the pressure @ the Schrader valve with a tire pressure gauge & water comes out back end of tire gauge, Bladder is a gonner. Installed a Flowtech in late 2010, started to recycle at an increasing rate. Checked their website & saw an excellent video that explained things. Utilitech may have same. Got to replace mine again.

See if you can pump air into it and check with gauge. If it doesn't hold at least 25 psi, bladder is bad.

Shut off the main. Shut off the pump. Drain the tank as much as you can (there should be a drain valve a the bottom on your pipes). Disconnect the tank from the pipes (if you don't you could crack a pipe) and give it a shake. You'll know.

If the tank is water logged or if the bladder is broken, you would be getting water out of the schrader valve on the tank.
