Can you use these in a ceiling fan? I read the description and it said for enclosed but my ceiling fan is not enclosed it's an open fixture.


These can be used in a ceiling fan as long as the fixture will accept a medium base lamp. Most ceiling fan lights today will only accept candelabra base lamps.

Open is better for cooling. If you don't mind the look, it's fine. And it looks better than a CFL.

I use this bulb throughout my home to include 4 ceiling fans. I have not experienced any problems. The only thing I can think of as far as being enclosed is that it can be used in a fixture with an enclosed globe but I'm not sure. I do use it there too.

These are fine for your application. The issue with some bulbs is the fact that they generate too much heat for an enclosed unit. Putting them into an open ceiling fan is certainly not a problem.
