why can't these be used with treated lumber?

Thank you for your interest in our product. G90 galvanized product cannot be used with treated lumber due to the risk of galvanic corrosion that can weaken the connectors when the chemicals that are used to treat the lumber come into contact with the metal. Because of this, a connector with a finish that will resist corrosion should be used with treated lumber. This is most commonly G185 (Triple Zinc), where the extra zinc content in the finish provides more protection. Other finishes that can be used with treated lumber include hot-dip galvanized, Gold Coat, or stainless steel.
